Anyone in the market for a 1926 Deco theatre?
Originally opening as the West Coast Granada in Wilmington, the 1,100-seat theatre was financed by C.W. Post (as in Post Cereal). Shortly after opening, the theatre was run by Fox West Coast and advertised as the Fox Granada.
The theatre featured vaudeville acts in its early days and was run as a movie house through the early 90s. After that, it served a short stint as a church, which recently left to occupy a larger space down the road. The continued use of the theatre has left it in considerably good condition, although it would have been charming to see the original marquee left intact.
If you’ve got 1.495 Million lying around under a mattress, it could be yours.
If you prefer something a big larger and more grandiose, the Rialto Pasadena is also for sale. Check out Messy Nessy Chic’s detailed post here.
